Learning about Emergency Services
Last week, the Preps focused on learning about emergency services used by our community. The Preps used computer programs, ipad apps, videos, graphic organisers, dress ups, craft and books to learn about their tasks, tools, uniform and work place. On Friday, to celebrate their learning, the Preps dressed up as either firefighters, police officers or paramedics.

Paramedic Visit
Last week, the Preps had a special visitor. Miss C came and spoke to them about her job as a Paramedic. She talked about her uniform, tools, tasks and her ambulance. The Preps were able to ask her questions that they had after completing their own investigations and then they were able to explore her ambulance.
100 days of school
Dear Parents and Carers,
This term we are finally going to reach 100 days of school. We have been counting since the very first day of school and the Preps are very excited.
The 100th day is Tuesday the 4th August. To celebrate we will be exploring the number 100 in maths, writing and play.
We are asking all students to dress up in bright happy colours to celebrate being at school for 100 days.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation,
The Prep Team – Miss Jennah, Kellie, Freya and Mary

Class Pets
Dear Parents and Carers,
The Prep teachers are very excited to announce the arrival of our class PETS!
We have Pippa the Platypus, Wally the Wombat and Kylie the Kookaburra that will be taking it in turns to come home with each child. The prep students need to write about what they did with their pet friends and they can draw a picture or add a photo if they want to.

The pets are coming home in bags with a diary. Please take care of these as they need to make it around to all the preps in a clean and orderly condition. This is an opportunity for you to spend a bit of time having a go at sounding out words with your child and see how their writing is progressing. Students will have the pet for 2 nights.
Return days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so please assist students to return them on time so the next student doesn’t miss out.
Thanks in advance for your assistance with this new and exciting home adventure!

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!
This Term the Preps will be learning all about
jobs. They will be learning about
emergency services, community workers, trades people and all about the jobs at
school.
As part of this exploration each Friday the students
will be encouraged to dress up. Below
there is a timetable to say what to dress up as each week. This is not something the students have to do
and we are not saying you need to go and buy these costumes. If the students have costumes or they have a
hat or jacket that supports the theme then that would be great. If students do
not have a costume, then they come in their school uniform.
Please note:
THIS IS NOT A FREE DRESS OR FANCY DRESS
DAY!!!!
Students are to only dress up in costumes that support
the weekly theme.
Also as part of the exploration of jobs, we are
inviting parents into the classroom that would like to talk about their
job. If this interests you, please come
and see one of the Prep teachers so we can see what time works.
If you have any questions regarding these the dress up
days or anything in regards to jobs, please do not hesitate to contact one of
the Prep teachers.
Thanks in advance
Miss Jennah, Freya and Kellie

Everyone watched a slideshow of pictures from semester 1 and then shared their writing with others.
Thank you to everyone who came and visited our museum! It was great celebrating the Preps' learning and achievements this semester.
