Reminders

Firstly, this Friday is our Teddy Bears Picnic. Please send a teddy bear to school with your child.

Secondly, we have almost received all the payments for the home readers, if you are yet to pay, please do so by the end of the week so we can start home reading next week.

Lastly, we are looking for two parent helpers this Friday 11th March between 12.15 and 1.15 to walk to one of the local kindergartens so the prep students can read to them.  If you have a working with children check and you are able to help out, please let us know.  First two parents to see us will be selected.

Class Pets

Dear Parents and Carers,

The Prep teachers are very excited to announce the arrival of our class PETS!

We have Pippa the Platypus, Wally the Wombat and Kylie the Kookaburra that will be taking it in turns to come home with each child. The prep students need to write about what they did with their pet friends and they can draw a picture or add a photo if they want to. 

The pets are coming home in bags with a diary. Please take care of these as they need to make it around to all the preps in a clean and orderly condition. This is an opportunity for you to spend a bit of time having a go at sounding out words with your child and see how their writing is progressing. Students will have the pet for 2 nights. 

Return days will be Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so please assist students to return them on time so the next student doesn’t miss out.

Reminders for Week 10 & 11

Dear parents & caregivers,

Just a reminder that this Friday (the 19th of June), students will be encouraged to wear their slippers to school. Please pack a pair of shoes as well, as the students will only be wearing their slippers inside.

On Monday (the 22nd of June), MPS will be celebrating Chinese culture. Students will be encouraged to wear traditional Chinese clothing or colours (red and yellow).

Also, parent teacher interviews will be held on Wednesday (the 24th of June) from 2 to 7.30 pm. If you have any questions about the interview, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Lastly, students will finish school at 2.30pm on Friday the 26th of June.

Medical forms

Dear Parents/Carers,

The medical forms for the school nurse are now overdue. 

Could you please fill them out and return them by the morning of Tuesday 10^th of March, as the nurse is coming to collect them.

If you are not consenting to the medical check, you still need to return the form indicating this.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Dear Parents and Carers,

This year we are creating lots of experiences for the preps to write about.  This coming Friday 20^th February, the Preps are going to have a Teddy Bears Picnic.  This simply involves the preps bringing a teddy bear on Friday to eat lunch with. 

If you could please send your child to school with a Teddy Bear on this day, it would be greatly appreciated.

ATT: Parents and caregivers

Next week, the Preps will begin their school day by lining up outside in their home groups (instead of coming straight inside).

Parents will no longer be required to come into the classroom in the mornings.

Students will line up under the left shelter, in the order of Kookaburras, Wombats and Platypuses.

The classroom teachers will be outside to assist.

Moreland Primary Preps 2015

Hooray! Our blog is back up and running for 2015. 

The Preps have been at school for 3 days now and are settling in very well.

Swimming Volunteers

Next week, the Preps will begin their swimming lessons and we still require volunteers to help us walk the students to the pool. 

Parents are required to have a working with children check and will need to make arrangements for siblings to be looked after during the walks.

All students have been allocated to a session, so if you would like to help out during your child's lesson then please ask a teacher and we can let you know which session they are in.

We require parents for the following sessions:
