Family Dinners

Thank you to all of the families who sent in photos for the Preps Integrated writing this week. The Preps used the photos to write about their families and shortly a display will be put up of the student's work. All photos will be returned on Monday.

Next week, the students will be writing about what their family likes to eat for dinner.  Could you please provide a picture of a favourite family meal by the 3rd of June. Photos can be sent by email or handed to a teacher before or after school.

Thank you again for your assistance,

The Prep Team

Colourful Milk Swirl Experiment

Today, during language experience, the Preps conducted an experiment. They added milk to a bowl and added several drops of food colouring. Then they touched the colours with a detergent dipped cotton swab. The Preps excitedly watched as the colours mixed and swirled together, making new colours and shapes. Soon after, the students brainstormed words to use for their writing. Some of these words included colourful, amazing, swirling, rainbow, lollipop and smooth.

Me & My Family

As part of our integrated topic for this term, Me & My family, we are asking the students to bring in a family photo to act as a prompt for their writing.

Could you please talk to your child about the photo (e.g. discuss who is in the photo and where it was taken) and if needed provide a description on the back.

All photos will need to be handed in by Friday morning (27/05) at the latest.

Thanks for your help,

The Prep Team

Spare Pants & Underwear

Dear parents & caregivers,

Unfortunately, we have ran out of spare pants and underwear for the Preps.

We have had many Preps return these items, however some of them have not come back.

We urgently need any spare items of clothing to be returned, otherwise we will not be able to provide them to the students.

It would be helpful if students could keep a spare pair of pants/underwear in their bags, that way they will always have a change and we wont need to call parent to bring in spare clothing.

Also, if you have any spare pants to donate that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

The Prep Team

Teddy Bears Picnic

Last term, as part of our language experience program, the Preps brought their favourite teddy bear to school for a teddy bears picnic. The Preps ate teddy bear biscuits and sang the song, before writing about the experience.

Below is a video about this special event.

Prep Assembly

On Monday, the Preps ran our school assembly.
This weeks focus was on Education Week, so we made a video of all of the things that the Preps have been learning about in Maths and you can watch this video below.

Enjoy,

Reminder: Nude Food

Moreland Primary is a Nude Food School and one of our school priorities is Health and Nutrition

This means NO rubbish and healthy food.

Lollies, sweet drinks, sugary biscuits and chips are STRONGLY discouraged.

Use a lunch box and small plastic containers to pack - no cling wrap or foil if possible. However, reusable bags are encouraged.

We have a fridge in our class and two microwaves. If you would like your child to bring left overs from dinner, please feel free to put their lunch into the fridge. However, please include instructions regarding reheating and a teacher will heat up their food at lunch time.

If you need some help with packing a nude food lunch box, below are some helpful links:
