Library Borrowing

Today is the first day of library borrowing, which is very exciting.

Students who have payed for their bag have all borrowed books to take home from the Prep library. If your child hasn't receive a bag, please speak to one of the teachers and we will provide you with another form.

Students will be borrowing and returning books every Thursday. Please ensure that your child ONLY brings books back on Thursday, as this will reduce any confusion.

Each student can borrow up to two books and can have these for two weeks. Please keep these books in a safe place to reduce the chance of them going missing.

We hope that you and your child enjoy reading books from our great collection.

Shape walk

On Friday afternoon, the Preps went on a Shape Walk around our school grounds. We all looked for the same shapes—circles, triangles, rectangles, squares or another kind of shape, and we kept track of how many shapes we found by taking pictures.

On our Shape Walk, we practiced:

• matching, naming and describing basic shapes
• learning about the characteristics of the basic shapes
• gathering information from the environment
• using positional words such as over, under, near, next to, etc

This is a great activity to try at home, as it will help your child to become more familiar with shapes and their features.

Morning transition into the classroom

Attention: Parents and caregivers

From the 24th of February (tomorrow), the Preps will be lining up outside in the morning, on the white dots, before entering into the classroom.

We ask that you say your goodbyes before this, as this will allow for a smoother transition into the learning area.

The Prep teachers will be out in the morning to assist the Preps with lining up.

Thank you,

The Prep Team
